Job Description

The Waiter at KUL Restaurant delivers exceptional dining experiences by taking accurate orders, serving food and beverages, and engaging with guests in a friendly, professional manner. This role focuses on high-quality hospitality, menu expertise, and seamless collaboration with the kitchen team to drive guest satisfaction and repeat business.

Key Responsibilities

• 1. Guest Service & Order TakingMenu Consultation:
• Greet guests warmly, present menus, explain daily specials, and confidently answer questions about ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens.Order Management: Take accurate food and beverage orders using the handheld POS terminal and transmit them instantly to the kitchen and bar.Upselling: Proactively suggest appetizers, premium beverages, wine pairings, and desserts to enhance the guest experience and increase check averages.
• 2. Food & Beverage DeliveryTable Service:
• Serve food and drinks promptly at the correct temperatures, adhering to KUL’s specific presentation and service standards.Table Maintenance: Monitor tables throughout the meal to refill drinks, clear empty plates, replace dirty cutlery, and anticipate guest needs before they ask.Payment Processing: Present accurate checks, process cash, credit card, or mobile payments correctly, and return exact change or receipts promptly.
• 3. Station Maintenance & Side WorkPrep & Setup:
• Complete opening, closing, and running side-work duties, including polishing glassware, rolling silverware, stocking service stations, and wiping down tables.Sanitation: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary dining area in strict compliance with local food safety regulations.
• 4.Complaint Resolution:
• Address guest issues regarding food quality or service delays immediately on the floor, resolving problems politely or escalating them to the supervisor to guarantee guest satisfaction.
• 5.Dietary Cross-Contamination Check:
• Communicate allergies or dietary restrictions directly and clearly to the kitchen team, double-checking plates before serving to ensure guest safety.

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent completed.
• ertifications: Valid local food handler and responsible alcohol service certifications (where legally required).
• Scheduling: Full availability to work peak shifts, including weekends, nights, and major holidays.
• Physical Stamina: Physical capacity to stand, walk, and carry heavy loaded trays (up to 10–15 kg) continuously during an 8-hour shift.
