Job Description

The Senior Millwright is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. The role involves precision alignment, vibration analysis, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of rotating and stationary equipment in industries such as oil & gas, manufacturing, power plants, and mining.

Equipment Installation & Alignment

• Install, assemble, and align rotating and stationary machinery, including pumps, compressors, turbines, conveyors, and gearboxes.
• Use precision tools such as dial indicators, laser alignment systems, and micrometers for accurate alignment.
• Perform leveling, shimming, and anchoring of equipment per specifications.

Maintenance & Repairs

• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical components such as bearings, seals, couplings, belts, chains, and shafts.
• Diagnose equipment failures, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions.
• Overhaul and rebuild mechanical systems to restore operational efficiency.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow workplace safety regulations, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, and PPE requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments and toolbox talks before maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, API, ASME, and other industry safety standards.

Vibration Analysis & Condition Monitoring

• Perform vibration analysis, thermographic inspections, and oil analysis to assess machine health.
• Use condition monitoring tools to predict failures and schedule maintenance.

Welding & Fabrication (If Required)

• Perform basic welding, cutting, and fabrication for repair and installation purposes.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and P&IDs for fabrication work.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, equipment history, and repair logs.
• Prepare reports on mechanical failures, inspections, and recommended improvements.
• Update spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical components.

Team Leadership & Training

• Supervise and mentor junior millwrights and apprentices.
• Coordinate with other departments such as electrical, instrumentation, and operations teams.
• Participate in training programs to enhance skills and ensure compliance with best practices.
