Job Description

• Protecting property: Safeguarding premises, property, and information 
   
• Enforcing policies: Ensuring that all policies and procedures are followed, as well as health, safety, and environment instructions 
   
• Monitoring security systems: Operating and monitoring security systems 
   
• Controlling access: Controlling the entry and exit of people, materials, and vehicles 
   
• Patrolling: Patrolling on foot and in parking areas to search for hazards and unauthorized people 
   
• Reporting: Reporting incidents and other issues to a supervisor 
   
• Maintaining customer service: Providing high levels of customer service 
   
• Ensuring authorized access: Ensuring that only authorized people enter the premises, and that they have valid passes 
   
• Managing keys: Ensuring that keys are signed out and returned, and that they are used only for company business 
   
• Preventing smoking: Ensuring that smoking is not permitted on duty, and reporting any security guards who are smoking 
   
• Implementing security protocols: Implementing and enforcing security protocols, such as bag checks and body searches
