Job Description:

The Commis I is responsible for assisting senior chefs in food preparation, cooking, and ensuring high-quality dishes are served. The role requires maintaining kitchen hygiene, adhering to food safety standards, and contributing to efficient kitchen operations in a fast-paced environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in food preparation and cooking as per menu specifications.

  • Ensure all ingredients are properly stored, labeled, and rotated.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations.

  • Support senior chefs in plating and food presentation.

  • Follow hygiene, safety, and sanitation guidelines (HACCP).

  • Assist in receiving and inspecting food supplies.

  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Minimize food wastage and maintain portion control.

  • Work efficiently during peak hours to meet kitchen demands.

  • Follow kitchen policies, procedures, and quality standards.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of food preparation and basic cooking techniques.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
