The Commis I – Tanoor (Arabic Bread) is responsible for preparing, baking, and ensuring the authenticity of traditional Arabic bread using a Tanoor oven. The role requires knowledge of bread-making techniques, dough preparation, and temperature control. The Commis I will work under the supervision of senior chefs to maintain the highest quality standards and ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Prepare and knead dough according to traditional Arabic bread recipes
Operate and maintain the Tanoor oven to ensure consistent baking results
Monitor temperature settings and baking times for optimal bread quality
Shape and roll the dough to achieve the desired texture and appearance
Ensure proper fermentation techniques for soft and fluffy bread
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the baking area (HACCP compliance)
Assist in ordering and managing baking ingredients inventory
Minimize food wastage and maintain portion control
Work efficiently during peak hours to meet customer demand
Collaborate with the kitchen team to enhance bread quality and innovation
Knowledge of Tanoor bread preparation
Experience in using a Tanoor oven and temperature control
Candidates with experience in Indian restaurants specializing in Tandoor baking can be considered
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2 years of experience in Arabic bread baking
Ability to work in a high-temperature and fast-paced kitchen environment
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and recipes
Physical stamina to stand for long hours and lift heavy ingredients
Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
