Job Description
The Commis III - Pastry is responsible for assisting in the preparation, baking, and presentation of high-quality pastry items. This role is ideal for a passionate individual eager to develop their pastry skills in a professional kitchen environment. The candidate must follow recipes, maintain hygiene standards, and support senior chefs in daily kitchen operations.
Pastry Preparation & Baking:
- Assist in preparing a variety of pastries, desserts, cakes, and bread as per standard recipes.
- Measure and mix ingredients accurately following instructions from senior chefs.
- Ensure correct baking and finishing techniques are applied for high-quality results.
Kitchen Operations & Hygiene:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry section.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards (HACCP).
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of ingredients to prevent food wastage.
Support & Teamwork:
- Assist Commis I & II and Pastry Chef in daily pastry operations.
- Follow instructions and execute tasks efficiently during busy service hours.
- Work collaboratively with the team to maintain smooth kitchen operations.
Inventory & Equipment Handling:
- Monitor stock levels of pastry ingredients and report shortages.
- Handle kitchen tools and bakery equipment properly to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Follow maintenance guidelines for pastry equipment and report malfunctions.
