Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Commis - Tandoor to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate should have experience working with a tandoor oven, preparing Indian breads, kebabs, and other traditional tandoori dishes. You will assist senior chefs in ensuring high-quality food preparation, maintaining hygiene standards, and upholding kitchen efficiency.
- Prepare and cook tandoori dishes such as naan, roti, kebabs, tikkas, and other traditional Indian delicacies.
- Operate and maintain the tandoor oven at the correct temperature for consistent cooking.
- Marinate and season meats, seafood, and vegetables as per standard recipes.
- Ensure proper food portioning and presentation before serving.
- Follow kitchen safety and hygiene standards, including proper storage and handling of ingredients.
- Assist in preparing mise en place for tandoor dishes and other kitchen needs.
- Monitor food stock levels and communicate with the chef regarding inventory needs.
- Maintain cleanliness of the tandoor section and adhere to food safety regulations.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and timely food preparation.
- Learn and adapt to new techniques, recipes, and menu updates as required.
