Job Description
The General Manager Production & Factory (Plant Head) is responsible
for overseeing all aspects of the chemical plant operations, including production,
maintenance, shipping, receiving, and quality control. This leadership role requires a focus
on optimizing plant performance to ensure maximum production output, quality, and
operational efficiency. The General Manager will lead a team of department managers,
ensuring the plant operates smoothly while maintaining a high standard of safety, quality,
and efficiency.
Plant Operations Management:
- Oversee all plant operations, ensuring production, maintenance, and quality
control goals are met.
- Work with department managers (Production, Maintenance, QC) to ensure
smooth plant operations.
- Promote cost control, operational efficiency, and optimization of plant
processes.
Team Leadership & Performance Management:
- Manage and develop employees through performance reviews, goal-setting,
career development, and succession planning.
- Lead through teamwork, coaching, and innovation, fostering a positive work
culture.
- Ensure the recruitment, training, and retention of staff.
Quality Control:
- Work closely with the QC Manager to maintain product quality, perform tests,
and analyze trends.
- Ensure all products meet quality standards by managing lab analysis and
making recommendations to operations.
Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce safe work practices across the plant, ensuring a safe working
environment.
- Responsible for plant maintenance, adjusting facilities and equipment as
necessary.
- Report any safety concerns to supervisors and ensure compliance with all
safety regulations.
Operational Planning:
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure cleanliness and
efficiency in all plant operations.
- Monitor ongoing projects, planning required maintenance, and scheduling
future projects.
Communication & Reporting:
- Communicate regularly with the Director of Operations regarding plant
performance, production goals, and operational updates.
- Collaborate with various departments to resolve issues and ensure smooth
operations.
Continuous Improvement:
- Focus on continuous improvement in all aspects of plant operations.
- Lead initiatives to optimize plant performance and achieve production goals.
