Job Description
The Chapathi Maker is responsible for preparing fresh, high-quality chapathis for customers or guests in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role involves mixing dough, rolling out chapathis, and cooking them on a hot griddle, ensuring they meet food safety standards and quality expectations.
- Prepare and knead dough to the right consistency for making chapathis.
- Roll out dough into uniform, round, and thin discs.
- Cook chapathis on a tawa (griddle), ensuring they are evenly cooked, puffed, and golden brown.
- Maintain the right temperature of the griddle for optimal cooking results.
- Monitor the quality of the chapathis, ensuring they meet the required standards in terms of texture and appearance.
- Keep the work area clean and organized, including utensils, equipment, and surfaces used for preparation.
- Assist with other kitchen tasks as needed, such as preparing other flatbreads or assisting with the assembly of dishes.
- Follow food safety and hygiene practices to ensure safe handling of ingredients and cooked items.
- Ensure that chapathis are served fresh and on time to meet customer orders or restaurant needs.
- Work efficiently under pressure, especially during busy meal periods.
