Job Description
The Assistant Cook will support the Head Chef and kitchen staff in preparing, cooking, and presenting food in a safe and efficient manner. This role is essential for ensuring smooth kitchen operations, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with food preparation according to established recipes and standards.
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, such as chopping vegetables, measuring ingredients, and marinating meats.
- Ensure all food is prepared and served in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Assist with cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment, utensils, and workspaces.
- Help with inventory management, including receiving, labeling, and storing food items.
- Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring all dishes meet established standards.
- Work efficiently during busy kitchen hours and assist with various tasks as needed.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and service.
- Follow health and safety regulations, ensuring proper food handling and storage practices.
