  • Food preparation: Preparing dishes, and directing how food is presented on the plate 
     
  • Kitchen management: Overseeing and supervising the kitchen staff, and ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly 
     
  • Menu planning: Helping to plan menus, and ensuring food quality 
     
  • Inventory and supplies: Tracking inventory, ordering supplies, and managing supplies 
     
  • Training: Training new kitchen employees, and cross-training to help staff learn more efficiently 
     
  • Administrative duties: Handling administrative duties 
     
  • Food safety: Ensuring food safety standards are met, and keeping stations clean
